Your Pain Relief Options
我们的供应商 offer the full spectrum of safe, effective pain-relieving therapies trusted by patients and doctors alike. All of these procedures are performed on-site and involve little to no downtime afterward. In most cases, you are able to return to your usual activities immediately following your treatment.
There are a wide variety of injectable therapies that can stop your pain in its tracks. Which one is appropriate for you will depend on the cause of your pain, the severity of your symptoms, and your overall medical condition.
- Corticosteroid shots – provide inflammation relief. These shots take effect within a few days and can last months. These are typically delivered at joints throughout the body and may also be administered at the spine.
- 神经阻断 – deliver anesthetic to certain nerves in order to disrupt the transmission of pain signals to the brain.
- Trigger point injections – can relax knots of muscles that often cause referred pain elsewhere in the body. Pain relief may be immediate or within a few days.
- Viscosupplementation – injections of hyaluronic acid, a gel-like lubricant, into the knee joint to restore pain-free movement in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
With this minimally invasive 疼痛管理 approach, a special needle with an electrode at the tip is used destroy targeted nerve tissue. This prevents the nerve from transmitting signals to the brain that are understood as pain. Your interventional 疼痛管理 specialist will use 透视, real-time X-ray imaging, to guide the procedure so that only the target nerve tissue is affected. Radiofrequency ablation has the potential to provide pain relief for a year or longer.
Electrical stimulation that targets the nerves can be administered noninvasively (from outside your skin) or via implanted electrodes. Which method you require will depend on numerous factors, including the cause and extent of your chronic pain.
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) sends a mild electrical current through the skin to stimulate endorphins, the natural painkillers produced in your body. TENS therapy is typically applied at or near the nerves where your pain is located. TENS is believed to relieve pain in two ways: by increasing endorphins in the area and blocking pain signals sent by the nerves.
Spinal cord stimulation involves implanting a small device under the skin that delivers low voltage electrical currents to the spinal cord. The concept behind this 疼痛管理 approach is to scramble the pain signals sent by nerves to the brain – disrupting the transmission and preventing pain from registering.
